The examination of local society in Tolmács village

To realize a successful investment, development in a settlement, it is necessary to identify and understand the problems and the developmental needs of local society concerned. Therefore, our paper focuses on the exploration of characteristics and visions of local community and the identification of social problems and local needs. A primary research was conducted with the help of a questionnaire survey and observations to analyse the local society alongside the six dimensions (integration, attachments, satisfaction, cooperation, participation and perspectives) adopted from Antal Bőhm and László Pál. Our examinations confirmed that the majority of inhabitants are closely attached to their places of residence, Tolmács village. The nice, peace, quiet, but continuously developing environment is an important pull factor. Among the weaknesses the lack of job opportunities and social organisations must be noted.
