Abstract

The primary purpose of this paper is the examination of the possible interpretations of good governance in the case of developing regions, furthermore the correlation between good governance and economic development is discussed. Additionally, the paper analyzes the appearance of governmental performance as a precondition of international development aid in the discourse of  international development politics. Finally, the previous years' aid practice of donor countries and organizations is reviewed through the example of the World Bank and the United Kingdom.
