Abstract

In our experiment, we analyzed the weight gain, some quality parameters (fillet pH and color) and near infrared spectroscopy based classification of nile tilapia fed three different oil supplementations (fish oil, linseed oil and sunflower oil). No significant differences were found between groups in meat quality traits, but significant differences were found between sexes within groups in pH and color values. NIRS-based classification of the groups was effective. In conclusion, no negative effects were found resulted by the vegetable oil supplementation.
