Decree No. 253(iggy. (21.XII) named “OTÉK" (NRLP&B) is the fundamental legislative document of settlement planning and design in Hungary. The purpose of this article is to survey and explain the recent amendments of the first part of the GD. As fór the changes relating to the plán of the settlement structure the required contents of the supporting document on transport is limited to the designation of main roads and collecting roads (as transport elements in the land use plán). The residen-tial and service roads are specified in the planning regulations, as elements of the public open spaces.
