Abstract

Arable hilly areas has undergone dramatic changes during the last century. One of the spectacular manifestation of the landscape affected by humans is the change of soil. Soil degradation can be so fast in some areas that goes far beyond the rate of soil formation. One of the foundation of soil protection is the knowledge of soil loss rate. The rate of soil loss, the definition of tolerable soil loss might essentially influence the soil thickness, the colour of soil surface, the expansion of sediment area and numerous related properties. The accuracy of erosion measurements, the precise indication of dimensions, the outputs and the scientific basis of soil loss categories have a significant affect on agricultural landscapes.
