Abstract

Mihály Mőcsényi has developed several garden designs in the past two decades, in his 70s and 8os. Among these there are four public gardens in Vienna that are perhaps not even well known among Hungarian landscape architects. These open spaces are also Hungarian gardens, though not created for horticultural exhibitions as national gardens. These four gardens are very similar in their public use, but different in their urban context. One of them has already been reconstructed owing to the building of an
underground car park. But the three other gardens still exist and even show their original concept and space forms.
