Abstract

The metabolisable energy (AMEn) and (TMEn) values corrected to zero nitrogen balance of three feeds measured with pheasants and poultry cockerels. The EU predicted equation was used also at the ME. Average endogenous energy loss in poultry was 0.251 kJ/g dry matter and 0.223 kJ/g dry matter in pheasant. This can be expressed with the following formula: y=-0.93+1.09x (r=0,996), where y=TMEn measured by pheasants, x=TMEn measured by poultry. The correlation coefficient showed an improvement in goodness of fit in comparisons of AMEn. These equations indicate that data from poultry experiments can be usedfor improving the accuracy of evaluation of pheasant s feed.
