Abstract

The zoo of paris was constructed for the universal exposition of 1931. Originally it was built to be only a
temporary evem but: the great success made the city of Paris to transform it into a permanent institution following the that time revolutionary principles of Carl Hagenbeck (architect: Letros, zoologist: Bourdelle) Today the once ‘modern’ zoo is in a very piteous State.
Most of the artificial rock formations are falling apart, the trees became too old and sick, the animal exhibits are not able to propose satisfying habitat for most of the species. That’s why the Museum of Natural History decided to renovate totally the complex. The winner of the competition is the team composed around our agency [TN
