Abstract

The urban heat island is a phenomena which has a negative effect on urban living especially in the summer period. The global climate changing makes this effect stronger every year. I present shortly this phenomena and its negative effects (higher temperature, lower relative humidity, changing of the weather conditions in the area of the city). I showed in the example of Budapest the changing of the local climate, temperature and wind conditions which are mostly caused by the building structure.
