The expected effects of bird flu and its global spread on poultry production and feeding
Keywords:
bird flu, virus vector, antigen drift, free range production, closed housing systemAbstract
Bird flu has been known for decades and it was considered more or less harm free to humans up until now. However, its threatening spread has frightened the civilian population.
In the beginning, the incidents of the disease were sporadically seen in Asia but then the infection chain moved towards Europe. The number of cases has been increasing; therefore countries worldwide make their efforts to develop and produce the vaccines and propose more and more measures that may block the spread of the disease and the genetic transformation (mutation) of the virus.
