A szerző összefoglalja az állattenyésztés fejlődésének főbb állomásait, elemzi az új kihívásokat a fenntarthatóság kritériumai alapján. Tárgyalja a globalizáció néhány kérdését és lehetséges hatását Európa, ill. hazánk állattenyésztésére, különös tekintettel a sertésre. A fenntartható fejlődés szemszögéből elemzi a hazai állattenyésztés fejlesztésének lehetséges útjait.
