Abstract

Although the green space system of Budapest is characterized by low green space supply on the level of small parks, in case of metropolitan parks (Margitsziget, Városliget, Népliget) it is suitable. Their locations in the úrban structure are favorable, because these metropolitan parks are distributed almost evenly along the Hungária ring road in a semicircle.
Uniquely these metropolitan parks are giving piacé to important institutes (picture 1). These institutes usually fit intő the function of the park supporting and supplementing each other. At the same time this complexity makes the regulation of the parks more difficult. Although Framework Regulation on Urban Planning and Construction in Budapest (hereafter BVKSZ) is managing these green areas together with other public parks, however it needs quite different kind of regulation.
