The authors examined the juvenile mortality of wild boar kept for hunting purposes in a North-African breeding unit. The most common non infectious reasons of death were extended bleeding in the body cavity due to mechanical trauma, gastritis and caecum obstruction due to sand, phytotrichobezoar and ulcer formation in the stomach and respiratory problems due to the inhalation of dust and consequential catarrhal purulent bronchitis, bronchiolitis. Infectious origins of death were Escherichia coli enteritis, edema disease, infectious necrotic enteritis and croupous pneumonia.Downloads
