Abstract

I have done my investigations to determine in what percentages some insect species were parasiting the corn-borer moth population in the community Somogyszil of county Somogy. I therefore collected 4×100 damaged plants from a corn-field of 100 hectares in the falls 2000 and 2001. In springs of these years, with the aim of bringing up and identifying the pupae of the parasitoids, I put each 100 mothy plants in sacks and placed them in insectary. The results showed that an ichneumon fly Lydella thompsoni (Herting 1959) (parasiting %=11.25) and an ichneumon wasp Sinophorus alkae (Ellinger et Sachtleben 1928) (parasiting %=4.87) were the most important parasitoids of the corn-borer moth population in this areal. In slighter degree, the presence of Sympiesis viridula (Thompson 1878) (parasiting %=0.62), Phaeogenes nigridens (Wesmael 1845) (parasiting %=1) and Bracon sp. (parasiting %=0.12) has also been verified.
