The protection, the GIS list and the official records of historic gardens in Hungary

The term is well-known in the definition of the Florence Charter (1981): "A historic garden is an architectural and horticultural composition of interest to the public from the historical or artistic point of view". According to Article 4, the plán of a historic garden is a significant part of its compositions. Act LXIV. on the protection of cultural heritage (APCH), which has been in
force since October 2001, defines the legal concept of historic gardens in Article 36 (Paragraph 1): A historic garden is a landscape structure, a green surface óra park that has historic or artistic value independently or aspart of a historic landscape structure.
