Abstract

The various methods of music pedagogy help the development of musical skills, moreover the regular musical activities impact the entire personality. thereby creating a transfer effect which appears in other, non-musical areas.
The aim of my research is to present the transfer effect of music, based on the relevant literature, in relation to the preschool age. All the experiences and researches of Zoltán Kodály, Klára Kokas, Katalin Forrai, Mrs. Helga Mélykúti-Dietrich, and Mrs. Júlia Nagy-Szarka prove the beneficial effects of musical education on the emotional life, the intellectual capacity, the social behaviour and the overall development of preschoolers. Therefore musical training is exceptionally appropriate for the efficient development of the complex personality of children. Since preschoolers are primarily emotional beings and the main peculiarity of music is that it can express emotions, during music-related activities children experience these emotions by which they can form models for themselves.
The early musical training gives bases on which additional experiences can be built, making possible for children to become an emotionally healthy, rich and happy individual.
