Possibilities and perspectives for the development of apiculture and apiculture products in the Republic of Croatia

Apiculture has a long tradition in Croatia. The ecological medium in the Mediterranean and continental part of Croatia is full of different vegetables appropriate for honey production. The quality of honey and honey products in Croatia is high, this being confirmed by high organic-leptic marks and chemical analyses carried out every year. In the interest of achieving progress it is necessary to change the current mode of production organisation in the following way: changing the structure of beehives and increasing the rate of modification of honey and pollen to a higher number of various food, curative and cosmetic products.
