Open Access and Copyright Policy

1. Open Access Rights
Regional and Business Studies is an open-access journal, meaning that all content is freely available to users or their institutions without charge.
Users are permitted to:
- read, download, copy, distribute, print, and search the full texts of articles
- link to the articles
- use the content for any lawful purpose
All of the above may be done without prior permission from the publisher or the author.
This policy is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of Open Access.
2. Terms of Use (Licensing)
The journal operates under the principles of open access; however, all published content is licensed under:
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)
Under this license:
- The work may be shared (copied and redistributed) in any medium or format
- Attribution must be given to the author and the source (BY)
- The material may not be used for commercial purposes (NC)
- The material may not be modified, adapted, or used to create derivative works (ND)
3. Self-Archiving Policy
Authors are permitted to archive and disseminate their manuscripts under the following conditions:
- The journal allows indefinite and free self-archiving of preprint versions (including versions after peer review but before final publication).
- Preprints may be deposited via email distribution, personal or institutional websites, institutional repositories (open or restricted access), or other non-commercial servers.
When sharing a manuscript, authors must clearly indicate that it is not the final published version.
If the final published version is available, authors are encouraged and permitted to use it for dissemination purposes.
In such cases, the following must be included:
- full bibliographic details of the publication
- publication date and source
- DOI of the article
4. Copyright Policy
Authors retain copyright over their published work.
By accepting publication in Regional and Business Studies, authors grant the publisher a non-exclusive, perpetual license to:
- publish the article
- distribute it openly
- make it available under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license
