Analysis of a complex traffic-emission model for motorway control
Keywords:
traffic emission modeling, freeway traffic control, MatlabAbstract
In this paper a modeling method is proposed for characterising traffic emission as a function of macroscopic variables on freeways. Optimization possibilities of travel times and traffic emission as concurrent cost functions are investigated. Based on the edification of the analysis control objectives are set and as a case study, ramp metering is brought to the proof of accompolishing traffic stabilization respecting emission limits.
