Abstract

The place and role of music education in the classroom Music education has an outstanding role not only in individual social intelligence, but also in intellectual and personal development. Learning music determines our life, since it can be a source of happiness to play, and of joy to listen. In my study I will introduce the legal background of music education, the Kodály-concept, a method of personal development and improvement. Later on I will discuss the effect of music on human body, nervous system and the positive influence on studying. I examine the social changed after the end of communism and the cultural habits and customs, which affected music education. In the final section I will discover the solutions to the problems of music education today, finding ways to more efficient education.
