Cattle breeding is one of the most important livestock sectors in the world. To meet the needs of the rapidly growing mankind, this segment of agriculture must also develop at a rapid pace. At the same time, the sector needs to adapt to the difficulties caused by global warming, in particular the long-term rise in average heat levels in the global climate. In tropical-subtropical countries, different breeds have been/are performed by crossbreeding to improve the adaptive capacity of each cattle breed, taking into consider the keeping propose and local conditions. Today, there are several successful crossbreeding projects, such as the dairy Girolando breed, and the results of crossbreeding of the Brahman Zebu breed with modern beef cattle breeds. The aim of our study is to present the most important crossbreeds to improve heat tolerance, which have great importance in the tropical and subtropical regions of the Earth.
