Abstract

Mária Pecsics DLA is a Rudolf Balogh Award-winning photographer, associate professor of the Rippl-Rónai Institute of Art at MATE and Head of the Media Department. She teaches documentary photography, contemporary photography and self-management of photo projects in the photography BA and MA degrees and media design BA programmes. Her creative work moves from documentary to fine art photography, using an objective and detached approach to describe the essential aspects of the relationship between people and their environment. She is the founder of the Attila Hazai Memorial Foundation, created in 2016 to support the work of artists who are open to intermedia arts. In 2018 she co-organised the Photography and Literature Conference and co-curated the FOTÓképREGÉNY (Photonovel) exhibition.
