Optional rules. Interview with Tibor Gyenis
Keywords:
intervention, medium, geometry, irony, photographyAbstract
Tibor Gyenis is a visual artist and a lecturer at the Rippl-Rónai Art Institute of MATE, Kaposvár. His artworks are primarily photographs, but photography as a medium – from reading theoretical texts to building installations and working on photographic surfaces – concentrates many phases of work and ideas to give form to his artistic concepts. He often approaches his subjects from an objective point of view, experimenting with spatial relationships, geometric shapes and different surfaces, while also ironically referring to the absurdity of the world. In this interview, we asked him about his ongoing projects and about concepts closely related to his art, such as medium, collaboration, intervention, geometry and irony.
