Absztrakt

This paper sought to explore the multifaceted relationship between knowledge management (KM) and the competitiveness of tourism enterprises, offering a sustainable innovative theoretical framework to appraise and enhance this pivotal relationship. Highlighting on a strategic KM approach, the framework encompasses crucial elements such as knowledge audits, strategic knowledge planning, KM processes, technology integration, and robust measurement and evaluation mechanisms. In connection, through a managerial economics lens, the paper shows a rigorous criterion for evaluating the nexus between KM and competitiveness, offering profound insights into how tourism enterprises can strategically harness their knowledge and resource reservoirs for a sustainable competitive advantage. By adopting a structured and systematic KM approach, this study contends that tourism enterprises can effectively leverage their knowledge capital, navigating challenges such as employee turnover, service and product differentiation, including those posed by global pandemics. The paper underscores the significance of prioritizing knowledge utilization, asserting that companies can augment their competitiveness, efficiency, and overall effectiveness. In inference, it posits that a strategic KM approach is pivotal for tourism enterprises seeking to fortify a sustainable competitive perspective in a rapidly evolving landscape. These findings collectively propel the discourse applied economics on KM in the strategic management of tourism enterprises, offering a roadmap for sustainable competitiveness. The contribution not only augments the discourse on KM within strategic managerial economics in the tourism industry but also serves as a source of valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers alike. Future avenues of investigation may include the adaptation of the proposed framework to diverse tourism businesses and destinations, coupled with an investigation into the synergies between KM and other organizational practices, such as sustainability, organizational learning, and quality culture.
