LACK OF AN URBAN CITY CENTRE
Although Ajka has a history of many centuries, it has been a town for fifty years and is the home of a wide range of industries, it has nőt been able to develop a city center of urban character. The transformation of numerous small agricultural settlements into a rather large industrial town (by local standards) happened extremely quickly in the 1950s.
