Abstract

As most of the cities that based their economy on heavy industry, Ajka had to start a change in its economic strategy: light industry, service economy, and cultural Services instead of heavy production. Moreover, Ajka is a “new town" and maybe it lacks the typical stratification -úrban and social- that other European places have acquired during the last centuries. We strongly believe that the right direction for a new plan is to define collective spaces as the generators of the urban fabric.
