Ajka is a typical small post-socialist town formed in the 1950s by connecting eight villages. It is definitely a calm and lovely piacé to live in. Good conditions for living are secured by a variety of low-density housing providing intense contact with the green, an
imminent accessibility to natúré, laké and recreational activities. Today with the emergence of the service sector and new industries Ajka seems to be quite successful in transforming from a former industrial town. This development and social re-form should be expressed in urban conversion sooner or later. This can be reached through the definition of Ajka's new urban identity.
