New Approach in the Reserch of Cumanian Mounds – Expert Interview With Dr. Attila Barczi in 2013

With my present article I do wish to commemorate my doctoral supervisor, Mr. Attila Dr. habil. Barczi associate professor, teacher, researcher and mentor via the experiences of work carried out together during my doctoral research. The topic of it was the protection of our unique landscape elements, ‘kurgans’ (prehistorical burial mounds) in the light of actions initiated by the common agricultural policy. We have come to the conclusion that the amendments in regulations resulted in a significant positive impact on the status of ‘kurgans’ located in Békés county. While advancing in and processing the topic, we took an overview on former research results as well as tried to develop novel methods. As compiling our findings, we also introduced the particular ‘kurgan’ owners’ motivational factors, emotions, and laid down new directives as regards the sociological aspects of researches conducted in the field of landscape protection
