Absztrakt

A survey testing the Hungarian consumers’ preferences of dairy products was carried out with questionnaires (n=201) within OTKA
research. Based on the obtained results it can be stated that Hungarians consume butter, butter cream, UHT box milk, and ripened
cheese most. The preference of milk and dairy products does not always meet their consumption frequency. The most preferred products
are ripened cheeses, sour cream and cottage cheese. During the last few years the milk and dairy product consumption of one
third of the tested consumers changed, they characteristically consume more products than before. The answerers who live in different
settlements purchase the products in the biggest stores, their shoppings are often impulsive. They did not notice big changes in
quality in case of the tested products, but most of them regard the prices high compared to their income. If the prices were more
favourable, they would buy more.
