Abstract

It is widely known, that an animal can reach a production level expected based on its genetic background, provided it is healthy, and is nourished and housed properly. All farmers are now obliged to obey the rules stated in the Law of Animal Protection. However, farmers can afford to ensure a proper environment, only if they have financial sources for reconstruction, investment, and development of machines and technologies. Guarantee Section of European Agricultural Orientation Found and domestic budget offer a common subsidy for farmers.. Regulation of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) 139/2004 (IX.24.) contains rules of these subsidies in details. This is based on regulation 32/1999 (III.31.) of MARD about the rules of domestic animal welfare and its modifications (20/2002 /III.14./, and 72/2004 /IV.29./ MARD). Author introduces conditions of applications, and explains the definitions connected. He also describes types of acts (environment protection and animal welfare), as well as society of applicants.
