Abstract

The Role of Civil Organizations in Employment and Training – A Successful Case Study of a Cooperation in Debrecen Civil organizations play an increasingly important role in the economy. In our study employment-related civil organizations are put in the focus. These are employers, and they are intermediaries in the labour market. These organizations performed some of the tasks which provide assistance. Their existence is of primary importance from the point of view of the disadvantaged groups in the labour market. Such tasks may include counselling, placement or training and education. In the study described in the case study method there is a successful example in Debrecen. A cooperation is established where two civil organizations and a nonprofit public benefit corporation work together. The participating organizations varied program has been developed. Classical employment projects, a Career Point office, career points, a call centre, a job hunting camp, advertisement, web design (ekarrier.hu) are included in the realized and achieved areas. Based on the case study and the interview results, the most important development is the labour market integration of education-counselling programs, which primarily want to help the labor market position of school leavers, while the employers' side is also kept in close contact. The program developed during the project is a kind of "good practice", a positive example for other civil organizations operating in other regions.
