Developing of method for transforming time series data and demonstration on forestry data
Keywords:
time series examination, correlation-analysis, growth of treesAbstract
The method developed by us is based on correlation analysis and includes common procedures like autocorrelation or cross-correlation. In addition, the procedure allows the analysis of time series by introducing different length periods and temporal shifting. Accordingly, previously unknown relationships and delayed impacts can be discovered. The method is presented on growth, precipitation and air temperature data collected by Forest Research Institute between 1999 and 2010 in Mátra Mountain. We analyse the relationship between these parameters by three approaches: relationships of derived data with the annual (i), the monthly girth increment (ii) and with the increment of the main growing season (iii).
