Analyzing the effect of the soil characteristics on the antler quality with of roe deer GIS using the Agrotopographical Database

Roe deer is one of the most important big game species in Hungary. The development of roe deer antler is affected by genetic and environmental factors. Recently, greater importance is attached to environmental factors, especially to feeding conditions. However, food quality is closely related to soil composition. The aims of my studies are to show the relationships between the parameters of soil (using the Agrotopographical Database, made by the Hungarian Academy of Science, Research Institute for Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry) and the traits of the antler of roe deer. With the applied GIS methods and analyses we can probably clarify which characteristics of the soil affect the development of roe deer antler.
